This offering is for 4 lbs. of Pretty Bird Daily Select mini canary and finch pellets repackaged into a 1 gallon freezer grade Ziploc plastic bag. Also included are detailed instructions for converting your canary or finch to a diet of pellets. These pellets are approximately the size of millet seed and have a fruity smell. The pellets are repacked from product with an expiration date over two years in the future. Store the unused portion in your freezer to extend the useful life even longer.
Canary and finch enthusiasts feed pellets as their birds’ main diet for several reasons:
(1) A diet of pellets is more nutritionally complete than a seed diet.
(2) It is a cleaner method of feeding. Since pellets have no shells you won’t have to deal with the chore of constantly cleaning hulls scattered all around the cage or of removing hulls from the surface of the seed cups so the birds can see that there are more seeds underneath the hulls.
(3) Pellets do not go stale as fast as seed. They can be stored in an airtight bag or container in the refrigerator or freezer for long periods of time.
Conversion involves slowly increasing the percentage of pellets in your bird’s food mix while slowly decreasing the amount of seed. Typically conversion takes approximately one month.
